Hotel Falzeben

For us, family of three, the perfect place for a skiing holiday. Modern yet traditional and cosy hotel directly at the bottom of the gondola. Nice rooms, all renovated. Great wellness/spa/sauna/pool area. Very child friendly. Play room for little ones and another room for teenagers. However the daily childcare lady coul have been a little bit more enthusiastic or interested in children. Excellent massage service and sports program. I had a pedicure which I would not recommend. The pedicure was ok but the application of the varnish was poor. The food is great and the morning starts with a HUGE breakfast buffet with an excellent choice of hot and cold food. Dinner is always 5-6 courses and one can exchange courses for a la carte without a problem. Kids get what they want. The wine list is good and reasonably priced. There is also a bar with restaurant in the hotel which is a nice place for the local digestif 'Treber' after dinner. Service is impeccable. Everybody is very friendly and flexible. Nothing is too much to ask for. The torch ski run with the lady boss was fun and so was the grappa tasting evening. If you have a room facing the front of the hotel it can get noisy at night from the outside bar downstairs. Either lock windows and shutters or go down and party with them! If you want a break from the mountain Meran is only 20 mins away by car or by bus. Lovely place to visit and shopping. But if you want a skiing holiday where you can leave the car in the car park and just step outside into the skiroom and then to the lift that is the place to come. The staff does speak very little english. It would be good to speak some german or italian.
